Altea is one of the few Mediterranean towns to boast sea, river and mountain environments in its exceptional geography. Crowning the charms of Altea stands Sierra Bernia, rising to a height of 1129 m, whose slopes run down to the sea and yet whose summits are frequently snow capped in winter.
