The Triratna Buddhist Community ,formerly the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order has a Centre in Valencia and a meditation group in Villajoyosa.It aims to teach meditation and Buddhism as a living tradition in the world today.
THE DOMO
The practices and rituals can be practised in almost anywhere .There are however spaces which have their own magic and help support us in our spiritual practice.
This is one of the reasons that inspired us to create a special place dedicated to meditation: the Dome.
MEDITATION
Meditation is a method which helps us to become more conscious of ourselves and those around us. A regular practice helps us to develop a deeper vision of the nature of existence. It allows us to become more positive, creative and aware and to free ourselves from fixed prejudices and old habits.

At the Alternative Fair we are going to teach two basic types of meditation:
Mindfulness of Breathing: We can develop awareness and calm by using the breath as a focus. Effective and simple it can be the basis for any meditation practice. This makes it accessible to anybody regardless of their spiritual beliefs.
Metta Bhavana: Translated as the development of Universal Loving Kindness. It’s a meditation technique that helps us to connect with our emotions and to develop the more outgoing and affectionate aspects of our personality, so giving us a more positive emotional base to work from.
The two practices compliment and augment each other, allowing us to explore and integrate different aspects of ourselves and to create an inner sense of unity and harmony.

Sunday

18 hrs. Walking meditation and workshop.
